Yin Yoga is a slow-paced class based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine and the 5 elements, which are also associated with the 5 seasons. The poses are held a bit longer than in a regular yoga class, although not quite as long as in a restorative class. Yin is more concentrated on the "being" rather than the "doing" side of the energetic spectrum, so the challenge is to find your "edge", and to let go once you are there. This class can be very opening, releasing blockages in the fascia that often stay in the body for a long time. This is a great balance class for very active lifestyles or yoga practices. As this class is not very active, please wear warmer clothes so that you feel cozy and comfortable. NOTE: This page is for information purposes only. All bookings should be made through The Well.
